Lama Ole Nydahl returns to Barcelona to teach his second lecture about Buddhism in the west. After his successful tour of Spanish cities in 2007, on this occasion he will give just one lecture in Spain.

Lama Ole Nydahl is one of the few westerners that are fully qualified as a Lama and meditation teacher in the Karma Kagyu tradition of Buddhism. In December of 1968, he and his wife Hannah became the first western students of His Holiness the 16th Karmapa, one of the greatest yogis of the 20th century and spiritual head of the Karma Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism.

Diamond Way Buddhism In Spain
In 1972 the 16th Karmapa asked Ole to teach and he has since established over 570 Karma Kagyu Diamond Way centres around the world. The centres are under the spiritual guidance of the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa Trinlay Thaye Dorje and are under the direction of Lama Ole. These lay centres' function on the basis of friendship and idealism and are run solely by volunteers.

Diamond Way enables the modern world to access the Buddha's most effective methods through the "Three Pillars" of "information", "meditation" and "holding the levels of insight reached". This develops beings' inner richness for the benefit of all.

Our main practice in the Diamond Way centres is the Guru Yoga meditation on the 16th Karmapa. This meditation is guided in Spanish. All our meditation sessions are free of charge.

The Karma Kagyu Lineage
The Karma Kagyu lineage is one of the 4 main schools of Tibetan Buddhism. It is a lineage of direct oral transmission of reliable precious methods for reaching enlightenment. The methods of the Karma Kagyu lineage have their origin in the teachings of the historical Buddha Sakyamuni, which were given to his closest students. These methods were transmitted in Tibet by the famous yogis Marpa and Milarepa, among others. In the 12th Century Gampopa passed the teachings to the first of the Karmapas, who has since kept the teachings vibrant and powerful through successive incarnations. The Gyalwa Karmapa is the leader of the Karma Kagyu lineage and is also known as the “Black Hat Lama” in Tibet.
