Diamond Way Buddhism in Barcelona
Lama Ole Nydahl has founded over 660 Diamond Way centres of the Karma Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism around the world. The centres are under the spiritual guidance of His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa Trinley Thaye Dorje and are directed by Lama Ole Nydahl. The centres function on a lay basis.
The Buddha's teachings are built on three pillars: The first is information that is free of dogmas and can be checked. The second is meditation, and the third provides methods to solidify what is reached in meditation.
In this way the Diamond Way enables the effective methods of the Buddha to be accessed by the modern world, helping all to discover and develop their inherent inner richness for the benefit of all beings.
The main practice in all Diamond Way centres is the Guru Yoga meditation on the 16th Karmapa. All meditation sessions are free of charge.
The Karma Kagyu Lineage
The Karma Kagyu school teaches very precise methods for reaching enlightenment and is one of the main schools of Tibetan Buddhism. The teachings were given by the Buddha 2,500 years ago to his closest students and have been practiced, realised and passed on from teacher to student in an unbroken lineage that includes such famous yogis such as Marpa and Milarepa. In the 12th century Gampopa passed the teachings on to the first Gyalwa Karmapa who, in successive incarnations, has kept the teachings alive until now.
The Gyalwa Karmapa is the main lineage holder of the Karma Kagyu and is often known as the Black Hat Lama of Tibet.
